William Petersen is an American actor, producer, and voice actor who is best known for playing Gil Grissom in the CBS procedural forensics crime drama series CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, for which he won a Screen Actors Guild Award and was nominated for a Golden Globe Award. Additionally, he was further nominated for 3 Primetime Emmy Awards as a producer of the show.
